韓国出身のコンテンポラリー・ジャズ・エレクトロバンド Deep Mind は、エレクトロニック、フュージョン、そして現代ジャズを横断する独自のサウンドで注目を集めています。一方、グラミー賞受賞歴を持つアメリカのジャズ・サックス奏者 Patrick Bartley は、圧倒的なエネルギーと緊張感に満ちた演奏スタイルで知られています。

流れるような電子シンセサイザーの脈動と、自由奔放なサックスの即興が交わるとき、異なる文化や音楽的背景は、まるで化学反応のような鮮烈な響きをステージ上に生み出します。

Deep Mind is a contemporary jazz group from South Korea composed of five young musicians, gaining attention for their distinctive style that blends modern jazz, groove-based music, and avant-garde soundscapes. The band officially came together in 2021 with the release of their self-titled debut album Deep Mind, led by bassist Park Jaeshin. The lineup also includes pianist Lee Youngwoo, guitarists Ahn Sangjun and Song Junho, as well as drummer Kim Jongkuk, with Kim Hyunggyun joining selected performances.

Through richly layered and experimental arrangements, combined with the exceptional musicianship of each member, the group presents a compelling vision of the future of Korea’s new-generation jazz scene. In addition to being active within the Korean live music circuit, they have also begun attracting attention from the international jazz community. In 2023, the band released their second studio album, Deepmind II, continuing to expand the boundaries of their sonic identity.
